Saying goodbye to Mr Choo 06/24/2010
When I decided to try and raise the funds for taking part in the Clipper 2011-2012 round the world race, I realised that I would also have to make some fairly significant changes to my own spending in order to save as much as possible! I started by making a few big changes - for example - I am moving house to a much lower rent flat and sharing with more people. While I am sure I will miss my lovely current flat - I am also quite excited about moving in with some old university friends - and hopefully reverting back to student spending habits for the next year! I am also being very diligent with my packed lunches - although I have to say I am getting a bit bored with pasta salad - any quick cheap lunch recipe ideas are welcome! I am also selling off as much spare stuff as possible - old books and DVDs, even some clothes (good old ebay) but so far by far the hardest item to let go of was my very much treasured Jimmy Choo handbag. I bought this when I got promoted for the first time and have loved and treasured it for the last year. However, I realised that I loved and treasured it so much that I hadn't worn it more than 5 times as I was too scared of damaging it, and decided it had to go! Selling it was actually easier than I imagined (thanks for being a ready customer Jeni!). Clipper works out at about £1 per mile of racing, so without confessing the price of this bag - I am definitely a couple of hundred miles further round the world!
